Balthus (Balthasar or Baltusz Klossowski de Rola)
is one of my favourite painters, and I want to share with you some of his paintings.
Balthus’ world is real and at the same time unreal. I start the presentation with my favourite cat, and the fish rainbow!
Next on the mountain, with the human figures dispersed and terribly alone!
Going downtown for some action! Here we start seing the emergence of tension and submerged violence.
We now move indoors, starting with a rather simple portrait of the painter Juan Miro and his daughter Dolores.
The painter Andre Derain in a setting that poses more questions than it answers.
The mysterious window, the opening of an opportunity to fall, with a goodbye.
I would like to know what Sigmund Freud would have said for this picture, the Master of the Interpretation of Dreams.
Alice combing her hair! I am sure Degas would have loved this painting, and regretted that he did not dare go as far!
For those more interested, there is a guitar lesson to be found. But not here!
